Social Media

If someone chooses to get a type of social media then they are putting themselves out there for the world to see. Whether they choose to make those social medias private, so others cannot see is up to them. Personally I think the school has some right to monitor what the students are doing but only if it's on one of their devices they choose to hand out to their students. Like our school has the right to take our iPads and search through them which they choose to do quite frequently with some of our students. But what the students choose to do outside of school is their own choice and whether those choices are bad then that's their own fault. The school shouldn't be snooping through their stuff because it's an invasion of the students privacy. At school they have the right to do that but outside of school is taking it too far.

Creativity In School

Freeport High School gives you some oppurtunities to be creative but not many. Because unless you're into drama and participate in the school play you're very limited on what you can be creative with. Sure we offer classes like creative writing but even in those classes the teachers are still telling you what to write about and what to base your paper off. I understand that we're in school and you're going to be told what to do but students should have some freedom. We offer so many art classes because our school focuses on the arts so much, but you teachers are still telling you what you have to draw, yeah sure you can pick what to draw but that's based off what the teacher is telling you to do. I understand the teachers have a job to do but if you're taking an art class you should be able to be as creative as you want. You're still not being all that creative. Just because we have the iPads doesn't mean we're being creative, most kids use it for school and games. So here at the Freeport students have some ways to be creative but on a very limited scale. I may be wrong but that's just my point of view.
